~Chapter 26~


We arrived home, I slugged out of my raincoat, and then trudged up the stairs into my bedroom. There was a little black cat waiting for me on my bed. A smile lit up my face as I ran over, and scooped up the kitten. I squeezed him tightly, so tight I'm surprised I didn't squish him.

Suddenly Jesse stood in his place, me squeezing him instead of the cat. His purple hair was still slightly wet, and little raindrops fell onto my face. Jesse bent down to lightly brush his lips with mine, and then hugged me closer. There was so much passion emitting off of us both, I thought we were going to explode.

"Mmm," Jesse purred in my ear. "Tomorrow's Saturday…" That was shocking to me. I had apparently lost track of the days.

"Really? Thank god, I need to sleep in…" I had not gotten much sleep lately, and the reason was hugging me right now. My brain was too preoccupied of Jesse, that it didn't register that it was time to sleep. Stupid, gorgeous Vampire, depriving me of sleep.

"So I was thinking…" Jesse said, walking over to my bed and sitting down. I sat on his lap, and rested my head against his chest.

"Yes?"

"Well…I was thinking that I should take you to my place…" He paused to see my reaction. "If…If you'd like."

"You have your own house?" I asked, he laughed, and ruffled my hair.

"No, I live with my parents and two sisters," I slapped myself on the inside, of course he lived with them. Now I was really acting like a blonde.

"So, would you want to meet them?" I was only too eager to answer.

"Of course!" I said, looking up at him. He smiled at me, and I smiled back. In the back of my head I wondered what vampire parents were like….I could only imagine purple hair, and motorcycles.

"Are you going to stay here tonight?" I asked, making my bottom lip protrude into a pout. He chuckled, but then frowned. Which was always a bad sign.

"Only for a little while," He replied, looking down. "I have some things I need to get done…" He didn't seem like he wanted to specify, so I didn't ask. I sighed, and laid down on my bed. Jesse laid next to me, propped up on his elbow. I loved how my parents were totally oblivious to us. It made me laugh.

"What's so funny?" He asked. I just shook my head, and frowned again.

"When will I see you tomorrow?" I asked. He thought for a moment, and then sighed. I sighed too, knowing that I wouldn't like his answer.

"I don't know…" He said. "Probably later in the day…I have a lot of things I need to do." I wrapped my arms around him, pulling him closer to me. Our lips met for what seemed like days, maybe even months. Finally Jesse pulled away reluctantly. I sighed again.

"I really should get going," He said, kissing me quickly one last time. "I'll see you tomorrow," He winked, and then walked swiftly over to the window. He opened it up easily, letting in a gust of wind. I jumped up, and ran over to him. I hugged him one last time. You would think that I was never going to see him again…

"Bye," I told him. He smiled, and then right before my eyes turned into a bat. A covered my mouth so I wouldn't scream, the sudden movement scaring me. He flew out the window, and flew off into the woods. I stared in amazement. I stood there for a couple minutes, as cold air nipped at my face.

I finally tried closing the window, which was a lot more difficult than Jesse made it seem. I finally managed to close it though, leaving my arms sore and tired. I plopped back down on my bed, and rested my head against my soft pillow. I closed my eyes, and of course the only thing I saw was Jesse. He haunted my dreams, and was in every thought I had now.
