~Chapter 25~


"Cali?!" Strong arms shook me violently, making my head spin in a million different directions. My eyelids slowly opened, squinting into the light mist from above. Jesse stood over me, still shaking me.

"Oh thank god," He said. I sat up, and my head spun again. "Hurry up! We are going to be late for class!" Of course he would be thinking of something like that in a time like this.

He helped me to my feet, I was still a little wobbly. He chuckled at my clumsiness, I scowled back at him. I said good bye to the beautiful waterfall, wondering when - or if - I would ever see it again. Jesse held my hand as he led me back through the dense forest. I'm glad Jesse knew where he was going, because I had no clue whatsoever.

"You really need to stop that…" He mused. I looked up at him, a mocking smile playing on his lips.

"Uh…what?"

"Passing out whenever I tell you something," He told me. He chuckled, while I still looked at him puzzled. "I tell you something, and then BOOM! Your out like a light."

"Well…" I said, crossing my arms over my chest. "What am I supposed to do?! You just told me that you are over 150 years old…what do you expect me to do?"

He thought about that for a minute. "Well you could try to be a little more reasonable…you don't even say anything, you just fall to the ground."

"Well I'm sorry, I've had a lot to take in the last couple of days."

We reached an opening in the dense forest, and the school stood before us. It was barely misting out, and nobody was outside. Hopefully no one would see us together, I didn't need to deal with all of those rumors as well. We walked through the front doors, and thank god there was nobody in the hall.

"We're late…" Jesse whispered quietly at my side. I figured that…

"Bye!" I said, turning to run down the west hallway. Jesse caught my arm, and pulled me back.

"Wait…one thing before you go…"

He leaned into me, and I think my heart stopped. His perfect lips pressed lightly against mine, with so much passion I thought I was going to explode. I felt light-headed as Jesse cupped my face with his warm hands. He caressed my bright red cheeks, teasing me to no end. He pulled away quicker than I wanted. He gave me one last, dazzling smile before he walked off down the hall.

I walked, light-headed to my class. I'm glad I remembered where it was. I had world studies with Mr. Redlam. I walked into class, accepting stares, glares, and whispers. It was like the first day of school all over again. Mr. Redlam gave me a dirty look, and pointed to the back of the class. I blushed scarlet red, and rushed to my seat, still dizzy from the overwhelming kiss.

The rest of the day took too long to get over with. I walked out of my last class when the final bell signaled it was time to go home. I could see Lynette and Niki talking by their lockers, and purposely avoided them. I half-ran out of the school, kids shoving me on my way. I walked out, to be disappointed seeing my parents Van waiting for me.

I sulked over, wishing I could get another blissful ride on the motorcycle that belonged to my vampire boyfriend. I slide open the door, and slide in. Before I slid the door shut, I caught a glimpse of Jesse standing by his motorcycle, smiling at me. I smiled, winked, and then reluctantly closed the door.

"So…how was your day?" My mother asked from the front seat. There were a million things I wanted to say, but couldn't. She would probably send me to a mental institution.

"Uh…fine," I lied. It was beyond fine, it was one of the best days of my life. We maneuvered out of the parking lot, and drove down the wet roads. I found my Ipod laying on the seat next to me.

I stuck the headphones in my ear, and turned it on. I blasted Panic at the disco, trying to drown my thoughts. The blaring drums, and guitar helped a lot. In some way the music reminded me of Jesse, which made me frown. I wish he could be here, listening with me, holding my hand…
