~Chapter 2~
“Cali! Cali! Wake up!” My eyes flew open to the familiar scene of our minivan. My mom was in horror as she stared at me from the front seat. Her hand was half out stretched towards me.
“Are you alright honey?!” My mom asked frantically. My father was glancing in the rearview mirror, probably wondering the same thing.
“Y-yea,” I stuttered. “I’m fine. Just had a bad dream.”
My mother looked concerned. I just shook my head. The image of the red-eyed, fanged creature was flooding into my head.
“Don’t worry,” My father told me. “We’re almost there.” I peered out the window. All I could see were trees, and bushes. It looked too green.
I picked my Ipod up off the ground. It must have fallen. I put the headphones on, just as something caught my eye in the forest. I glanced back out the window, and saw someone running. I’m losing my mind, I thought to myself.
I grabbed my cell phone out of my purse, and flipped it open. I had twenty messages from Megan. Of course. That girl didn’t know how to stop texting. I slowly looked back out the window. The person was still there.
I took my cell phone, and took a picture. I looked at the picture, and gasped. There was no one in it, just trees. I quickly looked back out the window, and the person was still there. Wow, I thought, I really am losing my mind.

We finally pulled up to a cozy-looking brown house. It was a two floor house, surrounded with trees. In California our neighbor’s house was five feet away from us, but here I couldn’t even see our neighbor’s house. If we have any, that it.
“Here it is!” My dad announced. “What do you think?” There was an awkward silence.
“It looks adorable!” My mother told him.
They gave each other a quick kiss before hopping out of the car. I grabbed my stuff, and followed them. I scanned the forest for anything unusual, but there was nothing. My parents were already at the front door, so I walked over. I was afraid something was going to pop out and eat me…
“Here we go!” My dad said as he swung open the door.
It looked like a little cottage inside. My dad had already been up here earlier this week, so all of our furniture was already here. My dad also got to take a tour of the town, so he knew where everything was. I, on the other hand, was totally clueless.
“Wow,” My mom said as she walked around looking at everything. “It looks amazing!” Great, I thought, I’m the only one that thinks this is hell.
“Cal,” My dad said. “You have your own room upstairs, and your own bathroom.” Well, Hell has some good points after all!
“And,” He continued. “Our room is right over here.” He gestured to a door next to the stairs. I nodded, and started walking up the stairs. They were carpeted, but they were still old, and rickety.
There were two doors at the top of the stairs. I opened the first one, and it opened to a little bathroom. There was a shower, and everything. On the other side of the wall there was another door, so I walked over and opened it up.
I first noticed a giant sliding closet door, a small end table with a lamp on it, and a large bed in the middle of the room. But none of that mattered. What I was staring at was a small black cat sitting on my bed. He had bright baby, blue eyes that were staring right at me. I screamed.

Chapter 5: Lonely Afternoon
After he said that, he touched his forehead to mine so that our noses touched. Then he moved in closer to me and tightened his arms around me so that he had one hand on each of my hips. He began listing more things that he liked about me. Even though I know that I scared you sometimes, you never let it get to you. You never let it show. That makes you one of the strongest girls that I know. But other than that, youre like a magnet, and Im a metal paper clip. You draw me towards you, and I cant really say how or why. I took my arms which had been at my side and put th

Chapter two: Numb Thoughts
As I sat in the classroom I was really starting to worry. He saw me. I know he did. What is he going to do? Is he going to come after me? I saw him...bite her. Poor Yin Mar. He must be a vampire. But he saw me too. I know he did. He even winked at me for gods sake. You cant tell me that he didnt see me watching them. I wasnt paying any attention to the class, but I did notice when the door clicked open. I looked up on instinct and saw Wind standing in the doorway.
Excuse me, he directed his comment to the teacher whos name I didnt even know because

Chapter 4:Love at First Bite
Wind offered his hand to me, I took it, and I stood up. He pulled me in close to him. Once again I thought that he was going to kiss me. When I looked into his eyes, those beautiful emerald green eyes, I saw a longing. This time though he wasnt holding me down, or against any walls, or pinning me to anything so I didnt think that he would bite me. He had his arms wrapped around my waist, with his hands resting softly on my midriff. Winds arms were holding me against him, but only gently and loosely. I most definitely could have escaped his grasp, but I even more definitely didn&
