My eyes adjusted to my dark setting
My lungs couldn't seem to receive enough oxygen
I dabbed my forehead as it started sweating
I felt my way down the dark hallway
I hit the light switch finding relief
After a few tries, it was still dark as night
I squeezed my eyes in disbelief
I could feel my heart beating through my chest
A soft whisper in my ear
A fall to the floor
A dose of fear
A now silent heart
